We were gifted with time and space to be in conversation with Dr. Imani Perry (JD/PhD). Dr. Perry, beyond being one of the leading voices and scholars of our time–particularly regarding the interplay between law, culture, literature and politics—is generous with her time, spirit and intellect and the video above is no exception. This conversation was moderated by emerging scholar, graduating 3L and Vice President of the Black Law Student Association, Ashlyn Crawford. Ashlyn is the rare student fluent, and comfortable, in the reality of the lived experience of Black folks–across the diaspora–while also also being agile in the critical dialogues surrounding policy, legal philosophy, American history and numerous critical theories.
